## Expense & Receipt Processing

Reduce manual receipt reading and data entry by combining Salesforce File uploads, Image OCR, configured
extraction instructions, and human-reviewed Salesforce actions.

## How the components assemble

1. **Context:** attach the receipt image or PDF to the intended Salesforce record.
2. **Document work:** use Image OCR to prepare readable text and extract configured values such as merchant, date,
   total, currency, or expense category when present.
3. **Agentic workflow:** apply customer-defined validation, duplicate-prevention, and record-action rules.
4. **Outcome:** prepare a reviewed expense record update, exception, or follow-up task through permitted tools.
5. **Control:** require a person to confirm uncertain values and consequential record changes.

## Practical boundaries

This is a configurable Salesforce document-processing pattern, not a packaged expense-management or accounting
application. Receipt quality varies, extraction rules are customer-defined, and final values should be reviewed
before approval or reimbursement.
