Intelligent Document Processing
Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) turns Salesforce Files into usable context for people, agents, and configured business workflows. Instead of downloading a file, reading it manually, and rekeying the result, teams can prepare the content for summaries, extraction, review, Q&A, and permitted Salesforce actions.
IDP complements Document Generation: one path creates new business content, while the other understands content that already exists.
Four practical capabilities
Image OCR
Prepare readable text from business cards, receipts, scans, photographs, and other supported image workflows.
File extraction
Extract relevant text or configured business values from PDFs, Office files, spreadsheets, images, and text-like files. Extraction mappings and record actions are defined for the intended workflow; iDialogue is not a universal prebuilt parser for every file and Salesforce object.
Contract summaries
Read agreement content for summaries, review questions, key-term analysis, and human follow-up without changing the original Salesforce File.
Document Q&A
Ask questions grounded in the prepared file content, including PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, and supported text-like source files.
From file to Salesforce outcome
- A user or Salesforce automation identifies the File and related record.
- iDialogue prepares semantic content or exact source based on the file type and task.
- An agent applies configured extraction, review, and action rules.
- A person reviews uncertain, sensitive, or consequential results.
- Permitted tools create the intended response, document, or Salesforce record update.
The original Salesforce File remains the source artifact. Configured permissions, tools, duplicate-prevention rules, and human review determine what happens after processing.
